Girl Next Door

a link above to a video i uploaded on YouTube to show different editing conventions.

Here are Conventions and Techniques i used my video.

Cross-cutting is a technique that has a motivation behind the cut, like to show two things that are happening at the same time.   for example when it shows the guy jumping in the swimming pool and then it shows a close up of him swimming
Jump-cutting
Combining of two shots that are similar, so the scenes jumps from one part of the scene to another, this can be used to speed up time and to draw attention.
Transitions
Cut – A cut is a basic transition where you cut from one scene to another. This is used to piece shots and scenes together.
Editing rhythm
its the tempo that a scene runs at. for example this is a party happy themed video meaning the tempo will be faster, but if it was a love scene the tempo will be slow.
 Cutting to soundtrack
Cutting to soundtrack is a simple technique that means the video cuts to the music.
